The partnership
ChargePoint, the world’s leading EV charging network, is a long-term client of Clarity. As ChargePoint has continued to grow globally, Clarity has acted as European strategic communications advisor, supporting activity from product news and corporate announcements to thought leadership, market positioning, and industry commentary.
The partnership is anchored in three priorities: improving ChargePoint’s reputation, defining and owning its category, and growing brand awareness across key European markets. In 2020, as ChargePoint began its first SPAC process, the company needed a partner that could manage strict communications regulations while sustaining momentum in its growth story. Clarity’s brief was to work alongside internal stakeholders, lawyers, and specialist advisors to define a clear approach to SPAC-related communications that supported ChargePoint’s long-term position in the European EV and mobility sector.
Scaling with confidence
To support ChargePoint’s SPAC, Clarity focused on scaling visibility with control and confidence. Working closely with internal stakeholders, lawyers, and specialist advisors, Clarity developed a communications strategy that adhered to strict regulatory requirements while reinforcing ChargePoint’s leadership in the European EV and mobility industry.
Clarity leveraged strong media relationships to brief trusted tier‑one journalists under embargo, before activating a coordinated European media relations programme. This ensured the SPAC news landed first with the most influential outlets, then was amplified consistently across priority markets. By combining regulatory rigour with disciplined media engagement, Clarity enabled ChargePoint to manage sensitive market communications, protect its reputation, and sustain its category-leading position during a critical phase of growth.
