Exploring the Role of Technology and Innovation to Empower Workforce Inclusion
Following the Labour Party Conference in September, we had the privilege of hosting a thought-provoking roundtable discussion, focussing on how technology can empower individuals with long-term health conditions and disabilities to re-enter and stay in the workplace.
In a time when the NHS is facing unprecedented challenges, and the government’s efforts to boost workforce participation are ongoing, the timing of this conversation was particularly significant.
We were honoured to welcome the Rt Hon. Sir Stephen Timms MP, Minister of State for Disabled People, Health and Work to address sector experts from the internet and HealthTech industries. His insights on the current landscape of workforce inclusion and the role that government policy plays in addressing these issues provided a fantastic foundation for the evening’s discussions, especially in placing emphasis on the importance of cross-sector collaboration.
The key takeaway was clear: leveraging technology and innovation holds immense potential for creating a more inclusive and productive workforce.
From assistive technologies that enhance workplace accessibility to digital health tools that support individuals in managing their conditions, technological innovation is vital in tackling economic inactivity.
Clarity is committed to continuing these critical conversations, and look forward to a formal opportunity to respond to the Government’s “Get Britain Working Again” White Paper on behalf of the HTA and ISPA, which will provide actionable recommendations for the new Government.
Thank you to representatives from the HTA and ISPA who helped make the event so interesting.
We look forward to continuing our work through all our trade bodies to drive sector growth throughout 2025 and beyond.
